1900’s – Business was founded by Shri Kanji Morarji. The company’s initial foray was in Pepper Trading. ‘Mariwala’ becomes the family name.
1940’s - Partnership firms shifted to Corporate structure – thus ‘Bombay Oil Industries Ltd.’, was formed
1950’s – The Company started with manufacturing activities – Coconut oil factory set up in Mumbai and ‘Parachute’ branded coconut oil launched.
1960’s - Entry into Oleochemicals & Spice Oleoresins – factories set up in Mumbai and Kerala (South India)
1980’s – Group adopts ‘SBU’ structure
1990’s - Spin-off of SBU’s into independent Companies - Bombay Oil Industries Ltd becomes a ‘Holding Company’
