Application

3,3,5-Trimethyl Cyclohexanol is a low melting solid with very strong camphoraceous odour. It is also referred to as poor man’s menthol due to this characteristic strong menthol like odour. It finds application in preparation of perfumes. However, its major application is in preparation of various derivatives like Acetates and Salicylate for cosmetic applications.
